Meet Xiaorui Li, our Talent of the Month for March. We had a short conversation with her to give you a closer look at who she is and what inspires her.

1. How did you become a model?
I met talent scouts Elsa and Radek from Esee models at school, so I signed with Esee and became a model.

2. What’s a perfect lazy Sunday look like for you?
My perfect weekend is sleeping in until I naturally wake up, with a light rain falling outside but not cold. I’m wearing my cozy loungewear, enjoying breakfast while watching the rain, and the rain just happens to stop when I go out.

3. What’s something about you that people are always surprised to learn?
Nothing, really – I’m quite transparent about who I am. 

4. What’s a small personal goal you’re working on that you’re excited about?
I’m looking forward to and striving to make the most of every day, whether it’s work or vacation.

5. What is your favorite thing about your career?
I love the wonderful innovations that come together when shooting for magazines.

6.  What’s been the most empowering moment of your career so far — the one you’ll never forget?
At the Balenciaga show, I stepped onto the runway amidst the rain. The Chinese believe that water brings good fortune, so at that moment I was filled with anticipation for the future.

7. What’s something you do just for yourself, no matter how busy life gets?
No matter how busy I am, I always make sure to meet up with friends regularly, and chatting with them always makes me happy.
