TALENT OF THE MONTH – Romy Nassar
the new year starts with our beautiful talent Romy Nassar who talked with us about her personal and work life in a little interview we had before the holidays.
1. How did you become a model?
In 2020 my friend Lynn Avedikian sent my Instagram post to her model agent in Montreal, then I had a meeting with Arielle a week later and signed the contract. This was never part of my plan! I still remember I had blonde hair on that mirror selfie and I was wearing those massive gold tone framed “The Woman In Gold” by Gustav Klimt earrings that I bought from the Antibes.
2. If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?
Embroidery. I love working with my hands. They don’t stop once I’m at it. It is pure bliss. I always surprise myself.
3. Tell us 3 things that make you unique.
- I wear my heart on my sleeves.
- The harder I work, the luckier I get.
- I am a progressionist instead of a perfectionist.
It is all part of my charming sloppy success.
4. Would you say you’re more of an extrovert or an introvert?
I am a social butterfly; it is natural for me to deal with other people whether I like them or dislike them. I love a good conversation and a party. However, I enjoy my solitude with some noise in the background (other people). I am quite entertaining.
5. What is your favorite thing about your career?
I am really shy. It is a tremendous effort for me to do what I do. It is kind of like beating myself out of my comfort zone all the times. It made me change how I feel about myself. It built a character in me that I could not have build in any other career. Character is everything, there is no substitute for it. It is also a visual world where you learn to see things with your mind and not your eyes. And lastly, it is leading in the unknown. You never know what you’re getting into, what’s coming next, and I don’t have a structured approach to life so it is all exciting for me. I treasure spontaneity.
6. Morning person or night owl? And why?
I love the days to work hard, and I love the night to create. I don’t sleep enough. The lazuli sky inspires me and unlock my imagination in ways I can’t explain. In countries where the sky is mostly grey, I become more of a night owl.
7. What is your go-to guilty pleasure?
listening to classic Arabic music.
