TALENT OF THE MONTH – Kmar Bennessib
Meet our February Talent of the Month, Kmar Bennessib! We sat down with her for a brief interview to learn more about her experiences, passions, and what makes her unique.
1. How did you become a model?
I wanted to start when I was in high school, but I waited until I graduated. Then I did a casting for Fashion Week and got selected to walk for many local designers. After that, I signed with a local mother agency, which introduced me to IMG when they came to Tunisia for a casting.
2. When you’re not on set or traveling, how do you like to recharge?
I spend my time off with family. I enjoy going to the gym and being active, listening to music, and I love long drives pretending I’m in a music video. I also hang out with my friends. I almost forgot — I paint sometimes, and I’m also a graphic designer. Being creative helps me recharge a lot.
3. Tell us 3 things that make you unique.
My aesthetic, my discipline, and the fact that I can look serious, mysterious, and slightly annoyed even when I’m having a great time. I can add a fourth: my unpredictable humor 😉
4. What is the best compliment that you’ve ever received?
I hear this a lot in my country: “You look different,” which translates to “you don’t conform to traditional beauty standards.” Although it made me feel strange when I first heard it, now I wear that “different look” as a badge of honor.
5. What is your favorite thing about your career?
That every day is different. One day I’m shooting, the next day I’m traveling, the next day I’m running on two hours of sleep. You never know what’s next — and I love that.
6. What’s one thing you wish people asked you about more often?
My mind!
7. What goal do you want to accomplish in the next few years?
Like every new face, I want to walk many shows, travel the world, and shoot campaigns and editorials — and why not acting in the future? Who knows.
