TALENT OF THE MONTH – Eduarda Bretas
A new year calls for a fresh face — this January, we’re proud to feature Eduarda Bretas as our Talent of the Month in a personal and inspiring interview.
1. How did you become a model?
At 8 years old during carnival in my tiny countryside town a photographer whom my mom grew up with convinced us to go to an agency in the city.
2. What’s a perfect lazy Sunday look like for you?
A slow morning with no plans. Then meeting my friends to watch a football match, ideally at the stadium.
3. What’s something about you that people are always surprised to learn?
That I still feel like a small-town kid most of the time, even living in New York.
4. What’s a small personal goal you’re working on that you’re excited about?
Still a secret for now!
5. What is your favorite thing about your career?
The people. Always. And I’m not only talking about people in fashion, but all the creative minds that have crossed my path during my career.
6. What’s been the most empowering moment of your career so far — the one you’ll never forget?
My first FW show: a Prada exclusive at 16, just days after my birthday. No doubt.
7. What’s something you do just for yourself, no matter how busy life gets?
Learning new stuff!! I’m almost finishing my degree, and no matter how hectic castings and travel become, I’m always trying to fit in some books.
